In a well-known injection-molding company, plastic parts, including films, are to be injected for the automobile industry. The touch film is to be back-injected in a very clean state by means of a component touch function. Due to the high demands, the entire cell should be enclosed by a clean room, so that there are as few dust particles as possible in the process.

Solution

With a 6-axis robot and a multi-functional gripper, the fed films are back-injected with plastic in the injection-molding machine. Before inserting in the injection-molding tool, the films are cleaned with ionized air and special brushes, so that no dust particles adhere to the film. After back-injection, the part is automatically removed from the tool and the sprue is precisely milled off. Once the parts have cooled off completely, these are checked for precision with special cameras. This way, the parts are 100% checked.

Advantages for the customer

The dust particles in the entire cell are minimized thanks to the complete clean room setup. The clean room can be installed in a conventional industrial hall. The fact that the system is very autonomous and has a 100% final check adds value, and operators must only rarely refill raw films.
